NGOC SON – NGO LUONG nature reserve

DAY ITINERARY OVERNIGHT
1 (L,D) Hanoi – Muong Khen – Ngo Luong - Chien – Mon Homestay
Departure at 8.00 from your hotel toward Southwest, bikes in the boot. The reserve is actually quite close to Hanoi. We arrive in Muong Khen around 11.00 and take a smaller road to enter the reserve by its West edge. The car will stop where it can not drive farther anymore, time for our picnic lunch. Then we take the bikes for a 15-kilometer ride through the reserve. It might be muddy but it is worth to get dirty here.
We take our time, ride across the wild, and arrive later in the afternoon in one of the main village of the reserve. We let the bikes there and have some refreshments before some moto-taxis take us across the reserve to Mon village. Some time to rest and have a shower before dinner.
2 (B,L,D) Mon – Khay – Mu – Sat Homestay
The reserve has this particularity to alternate wild areas with very vivid villages. A chance for travelers here to feel different atmospheres along a walk. A promise also for numerous encounters and strong feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Today is an easy day mixing relaxation, light trekking and bathing in the waterfalls on our way. We will have a picnic lunch en route, maybe near by the biggest waterfalls of the area. We arrive in Sat village where we will have dinner and overnight. Near by the house, lies a stream and waterfalls where often play all the kids of the area. We should have time to enjoy with them.
3 (B,L) Sat – Chien – Vu Ban – Hanoi Homestay
We leave in the morning, it is an approximately 3-hour trek to the place where we let our bikes. We get there for lunch. Then we ride our bikes out of the reserve on an easy road downhill until Vu Ban. Our car is waiting there to drive us back to Hanoi. Arrival late in the afternoon.
